Today, as I was reading my devotion and a book called “Goodbye Yesterday”—A statement made in the book stood out to me. Cindy Trimm stated, “Any new beginning is a choice”, and when I read that it was like a major highlight for me.
Often times we make life so complicated by trying to move forward hanging on to the baggage of yesteryear or yesterday. She explains it so well, “As long as you choose to allow the Spirit of God to work in your life, you will always have an opportunity to choose a different outcome“
Although, we are coming to the end of the year with expectations to see 2023. I am choosing today to allow God to go ahead and work in me. Scripture Hebrews 4:7 confirms that it’s not too late to enter His rest, when I hear His voice TODAY and not harden my heart.
So today, I made time for Him to speak to me, to spend time in His presence, and to allow Him to reveal to me what He wants me to let go before 2023. Honestly, I cannot think of anything I want more for 2023 is to just really make the choice to start a new beginning every day with God.
At first, I really thought it was weird to really not have any major goals and expectations for the next year, but honestly I am in a place where I want take one day at a time, and however God moves I will move. Each day I want to have an expectation of God helping me heal and become.
I focus so many years on trying to do, and not just becoming. My life has always been where I do this and that for reasons that comfort my rejection or protected my rejection. But that cycle is breaking because it’s time to make better decisions that includes God. Cindy Trimm stated, “Even if the only choice you make today is to honor God by putting your faith in Him and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of the negativity around you, your choice will change the atmosphere“.
Choose your new beginning TODAY, today you are well and capable. Tomorrow is not promising but right now today is. God isn’t looking for perfection, He’s looking for our yes to Him on this day that we hear His voice.
